Stay in Briançon / Serre-Chevalier
Located at an altitude of 1,326 meters, at the confluence of five valleys, Briançon is classified as a City of Art and History and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is, in fact, remarkable in more ways than one... The highest city in France, it was fortified by Vauban in the 18th century and boasts an exceptional collection of military structures, built from the 18th to the 20th centuries to improve its defenses. Its heart beats in the upper town, or Vauban citadel, dominated by the castle fort and surrounded by other fortifications waiting to be discovered: the Fort des Salettes, the Fort des Trois Têtes, and the Fort du Randouillet. Once through the Pignerol gate, the picturesque old town reveals numerous reminders of its past. The 18th-century Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame, the 14th-century Cordeliers Church, the old houses rising on either side of the sloping alleyways, the charming Place d'Armes surrounded by pretty, colorful facades reminiscent of Provence, and the fountains and sundials are just some of the discoveries that await architecture enthusiasts.

Serre-Chevalier Valley, ⛷️❄️ ☃️Serre-Che for those in the know
North of the Southern Alps, a stone's throw from Italy, high in the Hautes-Alpes department, just below the Lautaret Pass, the 27.7 km of the Serre Chevalier valley stretch all the way to Briançon.
Despite being perched in chamois territory between 2,642 m (Galibier Pass) and 1,200 m altitude (Briançon), and overlooked by the high glaciers of the Écrins National Park, the region boasts the lilting accent and sun-drenched charm of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
The Clarée Valley
In the heart of the Hautes-Alpes, on the Franco-Italian border, the Clarée Valley represents more than 20,000 hectares of pure nature.
