Cycling/Motorcycling in the Serre-Chevalier Valley
The Briançonnais region is a favorite playground for cycling enthusiasts.
Some of the highest mountain passes in France surround Briançon, the starting point for many climbs. Everyone can dream on the slopes that have made, and continue to make, the legend of the Tour de France. The Galibier and the Izoard are the most famous mountain passes, but the formidable Granon is just as challenging! The Col de l'Échelle and Col de Montgenèvre, on the border with Italy, will also delight cyclists... or mountain bikers, who are also very numerous on the roads. Awarded the "Accueil Vélo" (Cyclist Welcome) label, the Auberge de la Paix assists two-wheeled enthusiasts by providing, upon request, a motorcycle garage and a bicycle garage, as well as suggested routes.
